Frequently asked questions

The price of a 12-month subscription for your organisation is based on the size of your organisation and your number of users.

As a clinicalskills.net client you'll be able to download and print over 400 clinical skills guides, as well as receive regular updates to the content as guidance changes.

You can also invest in our highly flexible assessments package, which includes standard assessments and our interactive feature, which allows you to create exclusive assessments for your organisation from our question banks, as well as creating your own questions. You can then use the assessments to support individual revision, help registered nurses to accumulate evidence for CPD hours, and test large groups to evaluate understanding.

If you would like a formal quote for your organisation, please contact us: either call 0208 995 3336 or email info@clinicalskills.net, supplying the following information about your organisation:

  • For universities, your annual intake of students;
  • For other organisations, the number of your clinical or patient-facing staff.

We'll then get back to you with a quote and more information.

clinicalskills.net provides your selection of more than 400 clinical skills guides as standard. Clients subscribing to the Assessments Module can modify standard questions banks and assessments and also create their own.

All clients have access to customer support via email and phone.

If you have any concerns that our procedures might be at variance with your policies, we guarantee to respond rapidly to any queries you might have and work with your staff to come to an evidence-based solution that will satisfy you.

You’ll discover that it’s so quick and easy to find what you want on clinicalskills.net.

Do you sometimes worry that staff or students are turned off by large chunks of text? Or that staff are too busy to find what they need among your organisation’s policies? If you’re looking for user-friendly guidance for your staff or students, then you’re in the right place.

Our guides are ideal for visual learners, or for those whose first language isn’t English.

Our upgraded website is even easier to use now than it was before. The design is clean and fresh, and it’s so straightforward to find your way through the site, plus there’s an excellent search facility.

The illustrations mean it’s possible to zoom in on fine details—something that’s not always done well on videos.

The ability to scroll down the pages means users can work at their own pace. If they need to check something quickly, they can skip straight to the place that contains that information. But, if they want to take their time and read the content in detail, they can scan the pages at their own speed.

Subscriptions to clinicalskills.net are available for universities, NHS trusts, training organisations and care homes. Users at most clients access clinicalskills.net via username and password or via OpenAthens/Shibboleth.

All of our guides are reviewed by their authors or editors at regular intervals. We send out the guides to authors and editors approximately every 24 months and we are in touch with our authors in between times to check whether any updating is required. Also, immediately we are aware of new evidence or guidance that will affect a guide, we initiate a review of that procedure by the author or editor; some guides have been updated twice a year to incorporate such changes. All new guides, updates and question banks are subjected to double-blind peer review.

If you're lucky, it might already be on its way—give us a call on 0208 995 3336 or email info@clinicalskills.net to find out. If we haven't got it sorted already, we can add it to our list!

Ideally, we like to adapt our guides so that they are acceptable throughout the UK, in accordance with the available evidence. However, policies and practice may vary, so you can now add notes to our guides to highlight any differences to your users. You can also upload your own policies to your clinicalskills.net account, allowing you to make clinicalskills.net a one-stop shop for all your organisation's guidance on clinical skills.
