Sales development representative in clinical education - UK

Here at clinicalskills.net we are looking for a committed and energetic sales executive, who has a keen interest in developing sales, to join our team.

clinicalskills.net is an online educational resource delivering illustrated evidence-based guides on clinical skills and patient care, which is used by tens of thousands of healthcare professionals and students every month. Our clients include well over 200 NHS trusts, Scottish Health Boards, UK and Irish universities, care homes and training providers, who trust us to provide training support for their staff or students. Following the launch of our new software, our new sales recruit will help us to grow our customer base in both the UK and overseas.

You’d be helping to find new clients and retain our existing customers. Training will be provided to help you understand how our clients use our new software, and how they can get the most out of their subscriptions. This role includes:

  • Cultivating existing leads to encourage them to subscribe
  • Identifying new leads and pursuing them
  • Understanding the application of the content and software in solving the problems that clients have
  • Demonstrating the software and its content to prospective clients either over video calls or face to face as appropriate
  • Making the sale, including negotiating changes to the contract as required, and completing any necessary admin
  • Supporting new clients to set up their accounts and helping them become familiar with the software
  • Upselling new features to existing clients
  • Listening to prospects and clients to identify suggested improvements in the content and the software and providing feedback to management
  • Understanding clients’ data protection needs, addressing these and providing support for clients’ data protection impact assessments
  • Advising on marketing messages, and helping to tailor marketing content to align with clients’ needs
  • Acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for client queries about the software and responding appropriately and promptly to incoming leads
  • Working with the wider team, and supporting all colleagues in order to contribute to the ongoing success of the company

We need someone who has:

  • Solid experience of B2B sales into the NHS and/or clinical education fields, with an excellent track record
  • Good comprehension of the need for evidence-based clinical education in delivering better patient care
  • Software-as-a-service experience essential
  • The ability to help train clients in best use of our software
  • Experience of modern software and awareness of how it can develop
  • Experience of working from home full time and able to self-motivate
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to help build long-term relationships with clients

You will work as part of a friendly remote team, which includes our talented editors and medical illustrators, and supportive admin staff. We all get together several times a year for a lunch in London, and to get to know each other face to face.

Salary and benefits

Location: Remote working, with occasional team meetings in London, but sometimes in other locations to meet clients or prospective clients as required.

Hours: 35 hours a week, 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday

Salary: Basic of £35K and OTE (with uncapped commission) of £84K

31 days holiday including bank holidays increasing with service
